An app called tappy guide

So while cruising the appleviswebsite last night, I came upon an app entry that someone had created for tappy guide, which is supposed to be an app with trained live agents, who will assist blind and visually impaired individuals with tasks, such as navigating, shopping, or doing other tasks. From what I understand from the apps description, these are trained agents. Not only are they supposed to help find visually impaired people, but they claim to help other people with disabilities as well. however, I must note 2 things. The first is that upon going onto the app for the first time and creating an account, navigating the edit fields in the account. Creation process are clunky, and the edit fields do not always display correctly. Second of all. whenever I tried to connect to a live agent, whether it be live chat with an agent, a voice call with an agent, or a video call with an agent, I kept getting the same message. Which was we are sorry there is no Tappy Guide available right now. I finally found out the reason why from another applevis user on the forum, that the app is not available in every city. Nowhere on the app does it say this, nor does it say it on the website. Of tappy guide. In my opinion, this is extremely misleading, not to list this fact, either in the app somewhere or on the website. Still, if people want to check it out for themselves, I will provide a link into the App Store.https://apps.apple.com/app/id1553890897

A new audio game in the works

So I came across this post the other day on Apple this. There is somebody over there who is a brand new audio game developer. They have created a game which is similar in style to the castaways game made for the Windows PC. However, this is on iOS. The game is currently in beta stage, and if you are interested, you can use the links provided in that post to download and try out this game. Please know that there are currently some bugs which is to be expected with beta software that is just beginning development. I am back after a long hiatus

Hello everyone. This is William. After a long hiatus, I have decided to come back to WordPress. I have decided to switch back to my site that deals with audio games for the blind as well as technology for the blind. So periodically I will be posting my thoughts, or opinions on current audio games on the market, or current technology, for the blind that has just been released or is going to be released in the future.

Starting off 2021 with more independence

So when the new year began, I decided to sign up with a service calledaira this is a visual interpreter service, it allows a professional agent to connect you through your phones camera, and assist you with daily tasks which can range from anything from taking pictures, to going through mail, etc. Check it out at http://www.aira.io this service makes it easier for those of us who are blind or visually impaired to lead more independent lives. Like myself.

I would like to introduce myself

Hello I would like to introduce myself.I was born blind. I was a premature baby. I was born 1 pound and 10 ounces. In order to keep me alive, the doctors had to give me a lot of oxygen. I was told that because of this, it ruined my eyesight. I’m not sure what the medical term for that is. Anyways this is my first blog. When creating this blog I picked some topics that really interest me. Two of those are technology more specifically, technology that helps the blind. Also I am extremely interested in audio games which, for those of you who do not know our games that are primarily based on sound I was introduced to assistive technology in the year of 2000. I was using a Screenreader called in Tele talk for a while, and then I was introduced to jaws for windows, which is a great screen reader. A screen reader is a program that speaks incoming information that appears on the screen so that somebody who is blind or visually impaired knows what they are looking at or hearing rather. As far as audio games are concerned, I started playing audio games in 2007, I played games for the PC only, when I was introduced to my first iOS device in 2018, begin playing games for the iOS platform. I was also exposed to a lot of new technologies for the iOS platform I was in aware of. For example be my eyes, which is a great service that connects cited volunteers with blind individuals to help them complete daily tasks. So all in all this is what I would like this block to focus on technology for the blind, and audio games. I actually do my own podcast on audio games, but I also want to talk about it here a little bit. Anyway that’s all for now. Stay safe everyone and I will be back with more to talk about soon.
